The Quiet, Still Mind

swan-293157_1280(1)A friend of mine once said to me: “I’m mostly quiet out of respect for myself and others.” I was deeply moved by his words because people tend to expect others to be talkative yet there is such grace to sitting in a quiet presence! Oftentimes the quiet mind is a tremendously rich one and those who possess it are deep thinkers, listeners and healers. They know what is meant beyond just words, they see through facade, they understand and read emotions, knowing how to transcribe them in untold ways. I love the grandeur of a quiet, still mind. ~Aïda Touré
