Peace, I’m excited to announce the release of my new book of Love poems “Cosmicity“. Proximity to this reality of Love is primordial and communal, so much so that its quest transpires in all our experiences, whether joyful or painful, its purpose is to expand us therefore I will be sharing bits of “Cosmicity” regularly in the forms that manifested during its creative process.

~ Pulled to Prayer ~
A holy love is approaching:
between your eyes, a sun,
I look shyly as it strikes me
with some gentleness that
throws me to the ground,
the humbling haven
of vertiginous minds.
Every breath taken,
the Qur’an descends again:
every surah, a blessing
the unseen and the seen recite
for our heart to be purified.
The motions of planets
are prostrations too!
The very phenomenon
of gravity weaves an
unending prayer mat for
all humanity but we understand not
such bewildering subtlety.
Shadows of men know better,
from sunset to break of dawn,
prayerful, they bow in obedience
upon the diaphanous rug.
One who has intelligence
models himself after the Prophets,
alayhum salam.

Uncover your Purpose,
it will allow you
to explore the depths
of your soul in ways
that free you and
uplift others~

~ Open Wide Another Soul ~
Everyone has a higher self,
the breath of the Divine
subtly flowing through them,
do we honor this magnificence
and give our attention to it
instead of dwelling
on faults and mistakes?
By focusing on the best within,
we help the other to awaken
to their pulsating Essence
as well as its expression.
Is your love deep enough
to open wide another soul
while conditioning stifled it?
That would be true selfless love
for the sake of Al-Ahad.

A cup from the desert’s oasis
brought to the lover’s lips,
lo! The heart sheds tears
for Hussein in his mirroring of
Rasulullah’s compassion
even in persecution~
Tonight, from every particle
in the air, escapes
the Nur of Presence!
O dear ones, let us spread
the healing blossoms that
come through Forgiveness~

~ A Sacred Lover’s Voice ~
A sacred lover’s voice
is never lost!
Timelessly, it mingles
with the silver Moon
in whirlwinds only
sensitive hearts
can perceive~
Those who do hear it
always end up
with sealed lips,
soul prostrated
as a state of being!

Bismillah, know that
adversity polishes you,
it brings you at the feet
of the Beloved in a way
that shatters your false self.

within these skeptics’ ears,
even when Christ walked
inside of their being
to disperse his holy music
they cringed, frightened
by his clarity, his loving,
his pure cleansing them!

~ She: 1007 Lifetimes ~
She was so otherworldly
she just wanted to be touched by
the Yin sense in your Yang;
your guidance, your patience,
your tenderness, your true self,
your soul’s feel on the Deen,
your molding her, your teaching her,
your luxurious silence,
the solace between pauses
for Sorbet scents~
She, she, she longed to hear
the Music in each of your steps
toward the Divine Beloved!
In the octaves, ego is veiled from,
she is your sacred state
from inside manifested,
your lost Poetry found again;
she would have embraced you
for a 1007 lifetimes,
serving the master in you
she owed her every surrender to…
had you held her hand~
With such a beautiful Love
returned to its Source,
distance becomes holy.

Stars leap in and out of me,

whose strings sing your name!
I take in all this harmony,
ecstatic over your humility
and your meeting yourself in
the Azzan* your cells chant.
Oh my, my soul says:
“Welcome to yourself in me,
there are infinite ways
to love you and you and you!”

I completed this small painting “Al Latif: The Most Subtle” that evokes a highly spiritual attribute that is inherent to the soul. Subtlety is the very quality that is found in all spiritually awakened ones. This attribute brings healing, solace and lightness of being to self and to those who come across the recipient of this grace. Read amore about this painting here. ~ The Most Subtle ~
O effusive Light
that fashions our becoming,
we read Your vertical signs
with the sun and the moon in chorus,
we praise You in infinite ways!
O You who are not exhausted
by Your Attributes
as You pervade
the black holes
of the Heart that
relentlessly contemplates
on you; expanding, giving,
throbbing with anticipation
of being in the gentleness
of Your Presence anew!

~ The Lover’s Ambrosia ~
The lover wants a sacred love
that reflects his soul’s grace,
not the world’s dysfunctions
with its inordinate ego projections.
Why would such a vast being
relinquish the exquisiteness
of his inner ambrosia in order
to embrace some monotonously
mundane finite romance?
Everyone desires a deep lover
yet rare are those who are spiritually
refined enough to keep him near.
Such a love is an elixir solely
offered to those with pure lips~
